I notice a marked positive difference when a neutral facilitator is part of the team, attending all team meetings. Curious to know others’ experience?

I agree. I find the meetings where a neutral is present to be more efficient and productive.

From a biased perspective I would agree. I find that clients’ that hear the result from me versus a lawyer tend to view them with more assurance as I have no vested interest in the outcome and I am jointly retained.

I have seen the value of having the neutrals involved in the process so many times, one has to wonder why one would not include them every time. From getting a clear picture of the financial outcomes based on scenarios presented by the Financial professional to having impasse which is based on some emotional response dealt with in real time by the Family professional, their assistance has been invaluable in my experience.

I have found that suggesting a call with a financial neutral when a couple is still making the decision whether to use collaborative practice or not has proved helpful and successful in showing the value of working with a team. As a neutral , they can speak with both spouses and may be in the best position to explain their role on the team.
Same approach could work for Family professionals.

Eva I never thought of that – brilliant! Especially if you have some financial and family professionals on board to take this type of call.
